RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1209


A resolution approving the property at 720 Boscobel Street to be used for a historic bed and breakfast homestay.

WHEREAS, Section 17.40.280 of the MCL requires the Metropolitan Council to approve, by resolution, the location of certain land uses before a hearing by the Board of Zoning Appeals; and

WHEREAS, the Council must make a finding that the proposed use is consistent with the general and specific requirements of Section 17.16 of the MCL; and

WHEREAS, the Council has sixty days to approve or disapprove said facility, or Council recommendation shall be waived.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby finds that Jeffrey McKay, applicant for a historic bed and breakfast homestay to be operated at 720 Boscobel Street, Map: 82-16, Parcel: 437, has proposed a use consistent with the requirements of the Zoning Code at this location and therefore recommend approval of such use to the Board of Zoning Appeals as a “special exception”.

Thomas J. Brown is requesting a special exception under Section 17.16.160 of the MCL applicable to the use of the property for a historic bed and breakfast homestay.

SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
