RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1193

A resolution approving a third amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of establishing programs to prepare youth for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.

Whereas, Bill No. BL2000-383 approved grant contract no. 01-09-999-309-YOUTH from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed nine hundred thirty one thousand five hundred ninety dollars and forty-five cents ($931,590.45) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of establishing programs to prepare youth for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant by transferring the sum of ninety thousand three hundred forty six dollars and twenty eight cents ($90,346.28) from the In School budget to the Out of School budget; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 01-09-999-309-YOUTH from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment transfers the sum of ninety thousand three hundred forty six dollars and twenty eight cents ($90,346.28) from the In School budget to the Out of School budget, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
