RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1151

A resolution approving a second amendment to a grant between the Nashville Prevention Partnership to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation for the drug free communities support program.

Whereas, the Nashville Prevention Program has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed twelve thousand ($12,000) dollars to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation for the drug free communities support program and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. BL2000-294); and,

Whereas, the parties amended the grant award to increase the grant by five thousand ($5,000) dollars and such amendment was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by resolution (RS2001-830); and

Whereas, the parties, by mutual agreement, wish to amend the contract by increasing the grant award by three thousand ($3,000) dollars; and

Whereas, BL2000-294 provided that amendments to the Grant may be approved by Resolution by the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the second amendment to the Grant by and between the Nashville Prevention Program and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, which amendment provides for an increase in the grant award by three thousand ($3,000) dollars, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
