RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1135


A resolution recognizing Caroline Lansdell upon receiving the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award.


WHEREAS, recently Caroline Lansdell, was presented with the Girl Scout Gold Award; and

WHEREAS, the Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest available award earned by a Senior Girl Scout in Girl Scouting; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Lansdell, a valued member of Girl Scout Troop 1556 for fourteen years, is a dedicated young lady who has earned the respect and admiration of her fellow scouts through her active participation in the many programs sponsored by the Girl Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Caroline’s gold project consisted of a minimum of 50 hours of leadership and service in the community, was the making of a informational video on scouting in English and Spanish to motivate younger girls to participate in scouting to reach the gold award level; and

WHEREAS, Caroline Lansdell is a graduate of Hume Fogg Academic High School where she not only started her own company designing web pages but was listed in the Who’s Who of High School Students and is now attending the University of Alabama where she continues to work with younger girl scouts; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Caroline Lansdell for her diligence, determination, and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Girl Scouts of America and congratulate her.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Caroline Lansdell upon receiving the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Caroline Lansdell.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
