RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1134


A resolution recognizing Jason Lansdell upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.


WHEREAS, recently Jason Lansdell, was presented with the Eagle Scout Award at the Eagle Court of Honor; and

WHEREAS, the Eagle is the highest rank of recognition offered in Scouting; and

WHEREAS, a candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout one must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques; and

WHEREAS, Jason Lansdell, a valued member of Boy Scout Troop 316, is a dedicated young man who has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts through his active participation in the many programs sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Jason’s eagle project was not only creating an honor and memory library addition to his church’s library but he did a complete overhaul of the existing church library where over 200 new additions were donated to the library that included books, videos, and cassette tapes; and

WHEREAS, Jason Lansdell is a senior at Hume Fogg Academic High School where he serves as President of Hume Fogg’s Student Government Association and is a member of the bowling, baseball and golf teams; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Jason Lansdell for his diligence, determination, and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Jason Lansdell upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Jason Lansdell.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
