RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1133


A resolution recognizing Charlie Harvison for his service to the community.


WHEREAS, the leadership, commitment, and devotion that Mr. Harvison has shown speak volumes about his desire to improve the quality of life for the area’s residents; and

WHEREAS, some of his specific accomplishments include past President of the Joelton Community Club, Joelton Civitian Club, and has sat on the board of Head Start and Families First; and

WHEREAS, a servant of his community not only has Mr. Harvison received the Silver Beaver Award for his service to the Boy Scouts of America, but was nominated for the Katherine Strobel award for his charity work; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Harvison past President and now serving on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers of Nashville, along with past President and currently on the board of Southern Association Cyto-tech for cancer detection; and

WHEREAS, in addition to lending his management talent, knowledge, and skills to local service organizations, Charlie Harvison has devoted countless hours of his talents, energy, and time interacting with and serving as a positive role model for both our young people and elderly in our community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes such a public servant like Mr. Charlie Harvison for his outstanding contributions and tireless community service.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Charlie Harvison for his service to the community.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Charlie Harvison.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
