RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1132
A resolution recognizing Pastor William A. Raybon, Sr.
WHEREAS, on Sunday, July 14, 2002, William A. Raybon, Sr., Pastor/Founder of
Love Fellowship Baptist Church, was recognized with a first year appreciation
service; and
WHEREAS, not only was William A. Raybon, Sr., born on September 22, 1945, and is a lifetime resident of in Nashville (Davidson County) Tennessee, but was united in marriage in 1975, to Miss Shanette Fowler and to the union were born four wonderful and devoted children; and
WHEREAS, Pastor William A. Raybon, Sr., began his ministry journey in November of 1975, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, and in 1985, Pastor Raybon announced his call to preach under the pastorate of Rev. George T. Brook, Sr., in 1991 he became pastor at Bethlehem United Primitive Baptist Church, and finally he acknowledged his call to move forward as founder and preacher of the Love Fellowship Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Raybon and his congregation held it’s first worship service on Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Haynes Middle School on Trinity Lane, then following thirteen (13) months of worshiping in three different schools, the Rev. Raybon relocated his flock into their newly renovated church building on April 7, 2002; and
WHEREAS, on this joyous occasion, the members of Love Fellowship Baptist Church were ministered with inspirational prayer and service; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Pastor William A. Raybon, Sr., for his spiritual leadership, understanding guidance, and strong faith.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Pastor William A. Raybon, Sr.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Pastor William A. Raybon, Sr.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
