RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1131
A Resolution honoring emergency workers during the month of September to commemorate
the heroic efforts of emergency workers after the September 11, 2001 terrorist
attacks in the United States.
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2002, the United States suffered terrorist attacks
that brought devastation in terms of both loss of life and massive destruction;
and
WHEREAS, the emergency workers, including police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and rescue workers provided heroic efforts at the scenes of these attacks in their rescue efforts; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan County Council go on record in honoring all emergency workers during the month of September for their past and continued service to the people of this great city, state and country.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record in honoring all emergency workers during the month of September for their past and continued service to the people of this great city, state and country.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a certified copy of this Resolution for presentation to Metropolitan Fire Department and the Metropolitan Police Department.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
