RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1119
A Resolution requesting the Mayor and the Employee Benefit Board to take necessary
action, including submission of legislation, to freeze the costs of health insurance
premium cost to employees of Metropolitan Government when they have twenty-five
or more years of service.
WHEREAS, additional benefits, if proper, should be provided to long-term employees
of Metropolitan Government in recognition of their service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby requests that the Mayor and the Employee Benefit Board to take necessary action, including submission of legislation, to freeze the costs of health insurance premium cost to employees of Metropolitan Government when they have twenty-five or more years of service.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Mayor and to the members of the Employee Benefit Board.
Section 3. That the Mayor and the Employee Benefit Board each are further requested to inform the Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 hereof not later than thirty (30) days after the adoption of this Resolution.
Section 4. This Resolution
shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan
Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
