RESOLUTON NO. RS2002-1113


A resolution approving an amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of establishing programs to prepare and train youth for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2002-1046 approved grant contract no. 03-09-PY2-109-ADMIN from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed one hundred forty-seven thousand, eight hundred seventy-four dollars and one cent ($147,874.01) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of establishing programs to prepare and train youth for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant to increase the amount by sixty four thousand three hundred nineteen dollars ($64,319) for a total grant award of two hundred twelve thousand one hundred ninety three dollars ($212,193); and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 03-09-PY2-109-ADMIN from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment increases the amount by sixty four thousand three hundred nineteen dollars ($64,319) for a total grant award of two hundred twelve thousand one hundred ninety three dollars ($212,193), a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
