RESOLUTON NO. RS2002-1101
A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to compromise and settle the lawsuit of Mary E. Perkins against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of $90,000.
Whereas, plaintiff
Mary E. Perkins is a resident of Davidson County, Tennessee; and
Whereas, Mary E. Perkins was a long term employee for the Metro Action Commission
when she was terminated from her position; and
Whereas, Mary E. Perkins filed suit against the Metropolitan Government alleging
a violation of her due process; and
Whereas, it would be in the best interest of all parties for this matter to
be compromised and settled;
Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1: That the Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise
and settle the lawsuit of Mary E. Perkins in the amount of Ninety Thousand Dollars
($90,000.00). This amount is to be paid from the Judgments and Losses Fund.
Section 2: This
resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The
Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT
NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1101
Mr. President:
I move to amend Resolution No. RS2002-1101 by deleting Section 1 and substituting
the following language in its place:
Section 1: That the Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise
and settle the lawsuit of Mary E. Perkins in the amount of Ninety Thousand Dollars
($90,000.00) plus attorney fees. This amount is to be paid from the Judgments
and Losses Fund.
