A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Families First Employment and Training Services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.

Whereas, the Tennessee Department of Labor the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor, awarded grant contract no. 01-09-999-809-FFRST in an amount not to exceed six million, four hundred fifteen thousand, three hundred fifty-nine dollars and twenty-six cents ($6,415,359.26) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of Families First Employment and Training Services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant to decrease the amount of the grant award by two million, three hundred fifty-nine thousand three hundred sixty dollars and four cents ($2,359,360.04) to reflect the total actually expended;

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 01-09-999-809-FFRST from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment decreases the amount of the grant by an amount not to exceed six million, four hundred fifteen thousand, three hundred fifty-nine dollars and twenty-six cents ($6,415,359.26), a copy attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1096

Mr. President:
I move to amend Resolution No. RS2002-1096 by deleting Section 1 and substituting the following language in its place:
Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 01-09-999-809-FFRST from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment decreases the amount of the grant by two million, three hundred fifty-nine thousand, three hundred sixty dollars and four cents ($2,359,360.04) to reflect the total actually expended, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.
