A resolution approving an amendment to a Grant whereby the State of Tennessee, Office of the Secretary of State, Tennessee State Library and Archives granted The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County funds to support participation in the statewide on-line interlibrary loan system.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Office of the Secretary of State, previously awarded a Grant in an amount not to exceed Three Thousand Four Hundred and Nine Dollars ($3,409.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library to support participation in the statewide on-line interlibrary loan system; and

Whereas, this Grant was accepted by the Metropolitan Government through Ordinance BL2001-823 on October 4, 2001; and

Whereas, Ordinance BL2001-823 stated that any amendments to the Grant should be approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one (21) affirmative votes; and

Whereas the State has proposed an amendment to extend the term of this Grant to September 30, 2003, and to grant an additional amount not to exceed Three Thousand, Six Hundred Twenty-one Dollars ($3,621.00) to the Metropolitan Government during the extended term; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the amendment to the Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Office of the Secretary of State, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library, for additional funds to support participation in the statewide on-line interlibrary loan system, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
