RESOLUTON NO. RS2002-1088
A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Employee Benefit Board to provide the Metropolitan Council with an actuarial study on the cost of providing annual inflation increases on disability pensions.
WHEREAS, current service pensioners receive an annual increase based upon inflation costs, however, persons on disability do not receive such an increase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Employee Benefit Board to provide the Metropolitan Council with an actuarial study on the cost of providing annual inflation increases on disability pensions.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to each member of the Metropolitan Employee Benefit Board.
SECTION 3. That the Metropolitan Employee Benefit Board is further requested to inform The Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 hereof, not later than ninety (90) days after the adoption of this Resolution.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
