RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1083

A resolution recognizing Richard Rooker for his outstanding public service to the community.

WHEREAS, Richard Rooker, the Circuit Court Clerk since 1993, has overseen the day to day operations of not only the Circuit Court, but also the Clerk of the General Sessions and Probate Courts; and

WHEREAS, the leadership, commitment and devotion that Mr. Rooker has shown speaks volumes about his desire to improve the quality of these offices; and

WHEREAS, during Mr. Rooker's tenure as Circuit Court Clerk, he has continued with the updating of computer programs and other available technical resources, introduced computer modem services, offered courteous and respectful personal service, established an internet web site, and constructed and publishes a monthly newsletter; and

WHEREAS, some of his accomplishments include serving as Past President of the State Court Clerks Association, the Bench Bar Relations Committee in 1998 & 1999, the 1998 Jury Reform Committee and a member of many other affiliations; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Richard Rooker on his outstanding work ethic and service to his community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Richard Rooker for his outstanding public service to the community.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Richard Rooker.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
