RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1082

A resolution recognizing Gayle Watson upon her retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System.

WHEREAS, Gayle Watson, kindergarten teacher at Gower Elementary, retired from the Metropolitan Public School System after thirty-five years of faithful service to her colleagues and students; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Watson, recognizes that the future is dependent on children; therefore, she is to be commended for her timeless and tireless efforts and dedication for the improvement of educational opportunities for children; and

WHEREAS, Gayle Watson's experience, knowledge and professionalism will sorely be missed, not only as a kindergarten teacher at Gower Elementary, but for her creativity the past eight years in staging a kindergarten circus for the school known as Gower's version of The Greatest Show on Earth; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Gayle Watson for her 35-year career of untiring service to the Metropolitan Public School System and wish her much happiness in her retirement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Gayle Watson upon her retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Gayle Watson.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
