RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1076

A resolution approving a contract between The Tennessee Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for resurfacing of Couchville Pike/Mt. Juliet Road, State Aid Contract No. 36, State Aid Project No. 19-947-8433-04.

Whereas, the Department of Public Works has negotiated contracts with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for New Hope Road, Project No. 19-947-8433-04; and

Whereas, Metropolitan County Council Ordinance No. O85-739 authorized the Metropolitan County Mayor to execute any and all contracts necessary to implement the State Aid Highway System Projects, after approval of same by resolution; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve the contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the resurfacing of Couchville Pike/Mt. Juliet Road from the Rutherford County Line to the Wilson County Line.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The contract with Tennessee Department of Transportation for the resurfacing of New Hope/Stewarts Ferry Pike, State Aid Project No. 19-947-8433-04, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A is approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said contract.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

RS2002-1076


Mr. President:

I move to amend the Resolution RS2002-1076 as follows:

By deleting from the initial introductory clause the words "New Hope Road" and substituting in lieu thereof the words "Couchville Pike/Mt. Juliet Road" and by deleting from Section 1 the words "New Hope/Stewarts Ferry Pike" and substituting in lieu thereof the words "Couchville Pike/Mt. Juliet Road".
