A resolution approving the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Cheatham County for the temporary housing of juveniles in the Davidson County Juvenile Justice Center.

Whereas, there are times when Cheatham County does not have adequate space for the housing of juveniles in secure custody awaiting trial or placement; and

Whereas, the Davidson County Juvenile Justice Center may have space available to house Cheatham County juveniles who have been processed through the juvenile justice system; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Code of Laws §2.56.010(A) provides that the judge of the Juvenile Court may execute letter contracts for the detention of juveniles from other counties;

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Cheatham County is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
