RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1022

A resolution repealing Resolution No. RS2001-854 and transferring the $100,000 appropriated by Resolution No. RS2001-854 to the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program for property acquisition, relocation and demolition, construction financing and additional infrastructure improvements.

WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2001-854 appropriated $100,000 in Metropolitan Council Reserve funds to support the establishment of a local office in Nashville by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), to work on local affordable housing and economic development projects in the inner city; and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2001-855 appropriated $300,000 in Metropolitan Council Reserve funds for use by MDHA for the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program for property acquisition, relocation and demolition, construction financing and additional infrastructure improvements; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) program as described in Resolution No. RS2001-854 will not be undertaken in Nashville; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County that Resolution No. RS2001-854 be repealed and the $100,000 so appropriated by it be transferred to the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Resolution No. RS2001-854, which appropriated $100,000 in Metropolitan Council Reserve funds to support the establishment of a local office in Nashville by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), is hereby repealed.

Section 2. That the $100,000 previously appropriated in Resolution No. RS2001-854 be transferred to MDHA for the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program for property acquisition, relocation and demolition, construction financing and additional infrastructure improvements.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
