RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1012

A resolution authorizing submission of an application for a grant from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services for Security Planning for Large Drinking Water Utilities for FY 2002-2003

WHEREAS, the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency has invited the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services to apply for a grant in the amount of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand dollars ($115,000) for Security Planning for Large Drinking Water Utilities; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Water and Sewerage Services will submit by April 29, 2002, an application to the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency concerning this grant application; and

WHEREAS, the grant application requires approval by the municipality's governing body; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this application for Security Planning for Large Drinking Water Utilities be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to make application for a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services, in the amount of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand dollars ($115,000) for Security Planning for Large Drinking Water Utilities, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated, herein.

SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
