RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1007

A resolution appropriating $119,000 of Urban Development Action Grant Repayment Funds to provide employment-related services to low and moderate income persons.

WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 090-1112, the Metropolitan Council allocated a portion of payments received in connection with the Capitol Mall Urban Development Action Grant (UDAG) to economic development activities in Nashville's Pocket of Poverty; and

WHEREAS, the offering of employment-related services at several public housing developments and their surrounding areas will provide economic development opportunities for low-moderate income persons at sites within Nashville's Pocket of Poverty.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That $119,000 of Capitol Mall Urban Development Action Grant repayment funds are hereby appropriated for employment-related services at several public housing developments and their surrounding areas to provide economic development opportunities for low-moderate income persons at sites within Nashville's Pocket of Poverty.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
