RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1002
A resolution authorizing the public posting of the Ten Commandments within the area of the Metropolitan Government.
WHEREAS, the Ten Commandments define a basic and fundamental set of laws to govern society and interaction between people; and
WHEREAS, encouraging and reminding persons that these fundamental laws are fitting and appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as authorizing the public posting of the Ten Commandments within the area of the Metropolitan Government.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
