RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-883
A resolution approving
an amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department
of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville
and Davidson County, for the provision of establishing to prepare youth for
re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career
Advancement Center (02-09-999-309-YOUTH).
Whereas, Resolution No. RS2001-725 approved grant contract no. 02-09-999-309-YOUTH from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed one million one hundred ninety two thousand four hundred fifty two dollars and nineteen cents ($1,192,452.19) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of establishing programs to prepare youth for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and
Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant to clarify that NCAC will be reimbursed for allowable costs, the state can extend the grant, travel compensation shall be in accordance with state regulations and that NCAC must use the "America Workforce Network" logo on any brochures; and,
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.
Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 02-09-999-309-YOUTH from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment clarifies that NCAC will be reimbursed for allowable costs, the state can extend the grant, travel compensation shall be in accordance with state regulations and that NCAC must use the "America Workforce Network" logo on any brochures, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
