A resolution approving an amendment to a lease between the Metropolitan Government and the Nashville Zoo for a parcel of property commonly known as Grassmere.

Whereas, pursuant to Ordinance No. O96-473, the Metropolitan Council approved a lease (the "Lease") between the Metropolitan Government and the Nashville Zoo for the property commonly known as Grassmere; and

Whereas, Ordinance No. 096-473 provides that the Lease may be amended by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

Whereas, the parties desire to amend the Lease to clarify the obligations of the parties with respect to capital contributions by the Metropolitan Government and to the procurement and maintenance of insurance covering loss and damage to the various buildings located on the Grassmere property in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the document attached as Exhibit A and incorporated into this Resolution by reference; and

Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit from the approval of the amendment to the Lease.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The proposed amendment to the Lease between the Metropolitan Government and the Nashville Zoo (Exhibit A) is hereby approved.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
