RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-867

A resolution authorizing the reclassification of certain property located at 4107 Old Hickory Boulevard, owned by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to create a park under the control of the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation (TAX MAP 101, PARCEL 1) (2001M-128G-06).

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns approximately 808.74 acres known as Bells Bend (Tax Map 101, Parcel 1); and
Whereas, the property is currently under the control of the Metropolitan Department of Public Works and permitted for use as a landfill site; and

Whereas, a reclassification and transfer of said property to the control of the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation will create additional green space and eliminate possible use of this property as a landfill site;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to accept control of said property (Tax Map 101, Parcel 1).

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
