RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-855

A resolution appropriating $300,000 in Metropolitan Council Reserve funds for the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program for property acquisition, relocation and demolition, construction financing and additional infrastructure improvements.

Whereas, MDHA and partners with residents have been involved in the revitalization of Hope Gardens neighborhood since 1995, including the construction of over seventy-five affordable housing units, public infrastructure, and public open space; and

Whereas, MDHA, Nashville Housing Fund, Affordable Housing Resources, Tennessee Housing Development Agency and the City of Nashville have committed approximately $3.7million dollars for the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program that includes property acquisition, relocation and demolition, construction financing and additional infrastructure improvements; and

Now, Therefore, be it resolved by The Council of Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That $300,000 in Metropolitan Council Reserve funds are hereby appropriated for use by MDHA for the Heart of Hope Gardens Housing program for property acquisition, relocation and demolition, construction financing and additional infrastructure improvements.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
