RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-848

A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Traffic & Parking Commission to provide for one hour of free parking at the Howard Office Building complex.

WHEREAS, numerous persons must go to the Howard Office Building to conduct business with the Metropolitan County Clerk and other Metro offices that do not require but a short period of time; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that persons conducting business with the Metropolitan Government at the Howard Office Building complex should be provided one hour of free parking.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Traffic & Parking Commission to provide one hour of free parking at the Howard Office Building complex.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Traffic & Parking Commission.

SECTION 3. That the members of the Traffic & Parking Commission are further requested to inform the Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 hereof, not later than sixty (60) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
