RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-809

A resolution recognizing Aaron Chester.

WHEREAS, Aaron Chester started his week with a decision that would test the moral character of many adults; and

WHEREAS, when Aaron's dad dropped him off for kindergarten at Lakeview Elementary School, Aaron noticed a roll of money alongside of the driveway; and

WHEREAS, Aaron picked the money up and to his surprise there was $350.00; and

WHEREAS, Aaron didn't hesitate to do the right the thing and turned the money into the teacher; and

WHEREAS, Aaron's honesty turned out to be a lifesaver to a mother of the school whom called the school to see if anyone had turned any money in where she had dropped her bill money; and

WHEREAS, Principal Barbara Ide said the woman described it perfectly down to the way the money was folded; and

WHEREAS, Aaron's decision is a shining example of the morals that Lakeview stresses with daily lessons in character education; and

WHEREAS, Aaron demonstrated responsibility and the community needs to know there are really wonderful kids who are honest; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize this remarkable young boy for his responsible act of honesty.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Aaron Chester.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Aaron Chester.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
