RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-778

A resolution approving a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission for the Challenge America grant.

Whereas, the National Endowment for the Arts, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission for the Challenge America grant; and

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws §2.112.040(G) allows the Metropolitan Arts Commission to accept funds from other arts organizations by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the National Endowment for the Arts and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission, for the Challenge America grant, in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
