RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-764

A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to compromise and settle the lawsuit of Mary Evelyn Curtis and Johnny F. Curtis, Jr. against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of $12,000.00, plus costs accrued through August 15, 2001.

Whereas, plaintiff, Mary Evelyn Curtis, was injured as a result of an automobile accident on November 16, 1999;

Whereas, Mary Evelyn Curtis incurred medical expenses as a result of said incident; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that a settlement of Twelve Thousand ($12,000) Dollars, plus costs accrued through August 15, 2001, is fair and reasonable and recommends that this claim be compromised and settled.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the lawsuit of Mary Evelyn Curtis and Johnny F. Curtis, Jr. against the Metropolitan Government for the amount of Twelve Thousand ($12,000) Dollars, plus costs accrued through August 15, 2001, and that said amount should be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after this adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
