A resolution approving an amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the provision of establishing programs to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2001-696 approved grant contract no. 02-09-999-109-ADMIN from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed one hundred thirty two thousand four hundred ninety four dollars and sixty nine cents ($132,494.69) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the provision of establishing programs to prepare dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant to increase the amount of the grant award to one hundred ninety six thousand three hundred seventy seven dollars and ninety one cents ($196,377.91); and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant increase be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 02-09-999-109-ADMIN from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment increases the amount of the grant award to one hundred ninety six thousand three hundred seventy seven dollars and ninety one cents ($196,377.91), a copy attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
