A resolution approving Amendment No. 4 to Grant Z-98-087978-00 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County increasing the grant amount to $13,426,293.50 for the provision of disaster assistance.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has awarded Grant Number Z-98-087978-00 in an amount not to exceed six million, eight hundred forty-seven thousand, seven hundred fifty-eight dollars and fifty cents ($6,847,758.50) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for disaster assistance, and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Substitute Bill No. 98-1329); and,

Whereas, pursuant to Resolution No. RS2000-251, the Metropolitan Council approved Amendment #2 to said grant, which increased the total grant amount to thirteen million, eight hundred eighty-three thousand, three hundred seventeen dollars ($13,883,317.00); and,

Whereas, pursuant to Substitute Resolution No. RS2001-487, the Metropolitan Council approved Amendment #3 to said grant, which decreased the total grant amount to thirteen million, three hundred twenty five thousand seven hundred twelve dollars ($$13,325,712.00); and

Whereas, the parties wish to further amend the grant to adjust the total amount from thirteen million, three hundred twenty-five thousand, seven hundred twelve dollars ($13,325,712.00) to thirteen million four hundred twenty six thousand two hundred ninety-three dollars and fifty cents ($13,426,293.50); and

Whereas, Substitute Bill No. 98-1329 provided that amendments to the grant may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council that receives at least twenty-one (21) affirmative votes; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that this amendment to the grant contract be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. That the Amendment #4 to Grant Contract No. Z-99-095579-00 between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which adjusts the total grant amount from thirteen million, three hundred twenty-five thousand, seven hundred twelve dollars ($13,325,712.00) to thirteen million four hundred twenty six thousand two hundred ninety-three dollars and fifty cents ($13,426,293.50), a copy of which is incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
