RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-732

A resolution recognizing Terry and Janice O'Rourke on their 50th wedding anniversary.

WHEREAS, a golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for a celebration, and on Saturday, June 23, 2001, Terry and Janice O'Rourke observed this significant milestone in their life together; and

WHEREAS, their celebration began that evening with Mass, followed by dinner with family and friends on the lawn of their home on Collins Road; and

WHEREAS, the dedication, patience, wisdom, and understanding that they demonstrate on a daily basis has provided a firm foundation for both family members and friends; and

WHEREAS, this devoted couple has shared the trials and triumphs of five decades together, their commitment, and unyielding strength is a source of inspiration; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Terry and Janice O'Rourke on the joyous occasion, and extend our very best wishes for continued health and happiness as they embark on their second 50-year journey; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Terry and Janice O'Rourke on their 50th wedding anniversary.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Terry and Janice O'Rourke.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
