RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-695

A resolution approving an amendment to the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant by and between State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Juvenile Court.

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2001-678 approved grant contract no. GG0109062 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services in an amount not to exceed four hundred thirty-six thousand, six hundred and three dollars ($436,603) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant to clarify the amount of the grant award totaling four hundred thirty-six thousand, six hundred and three dollars ($436,603); the cash match requirement of forty eight thousand five hundred eleven dollars ($48,511); the payment methodology shall be by lump sum; the funds cannot be used to supplant any state or local funding; and the addition that the Metropolitan Government shall comply with all federal requirements regarding interest income; and,

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2001-678 provided that the grant can be amended by resolution receiving twenty-one (21) votes affirmative votes;

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. GG0109062 by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Juvenile Court, for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant, which Amendment clarifies the amount of the grant award totaling four hundred thirty-six thousand, six hundred and three dollars ($436,603); the cash match requirement of forty eight thousand five hundred eleven dollars ($48,511); the lump sum payment methodology; the funds cannot be used to supplant any state or local funding; and the addition that the Metropolitan Government shall comply with all federal requirements regarding interest income, a copy attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
