RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-693
A resolution requesting Director of Schools Dr. Pedro Garcia to reconsider the assignment of a former principal to a classroom teaching position at Antioch High School.
WHEREAS, a former principal has been recently transferred to a teaching position at Antioch High School by Dr. Pedro Garcia, Director of Schools; and
WHEREAS, the adverse publicity concerning this principal and issues surrounding this reassignment are of great concern to the parents and students of Antioch High School; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that Dr. Garcia reconsider his decision to assign this employee to a classroom teaching position at Antioch High School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting Dr. Pedro Garcia, Director of Schools, to reconsider the assignment of a former principal to a classroom teaching position at Antioch High School.
SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to Dr. Pedro Garcia.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
