RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-663

A resolution recognizing Jo-Ann Heidenreich upon her retirement from service with the Metropolitan School System.

WHEREAS, on June 30, 2001, Jo-Ann Heidenreich, coordinator of the Cohn Adult High School, retired after thirty-two years of faithful and dedicated service to her employees, colleagues and students; and

WHEREAS, Jo-Ann Heidenreich began her educational career in Nashville in 1972, teaching at Pearl High School, then continuing as an English and History teacher at Hillsboro High, before becoming Assistant Principal of Hillwood High School, later moving to the same post at Hunters Lane High School, then stepping in as the coordinator of Cohn Adult High School; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Heidenreich is to be commended for her timeless efforts for the improvement of educational opportunities for not only older adults, but any person no matter their age or circumstances in getting a second change to restore their self-confidence, earn their high school diploma to pursue better jobs; and

WHEREAS, she will sorely be missed not only as a person and administrator but for her leadership in developing innovative teaching strategies; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Jo-Ann Heidenreich upon her retirement from service with the Metropolitan Public School System and commend her on the positive impact she has had on countless students over the course of her outstanding career.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Jo-Ann Heidenreich upon her retirement from service with the Metropolitan School System.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Jo-Ann Heidenreich.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
