A resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, for the purpose of collection and disposal of waste tires, which amendment increases the grant amount from $200,000 to $320,000.

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL 2000-507 approved a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation to the Metropolitan Government, pursuant to the Solid Waste Management Act of 1991, TCA sections 68-211-801 et seq.; and

Whereas, the total amount of compensation awarded has been increased; and

Whereas, it is in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to approve an amendment reflecting said grant increase; and

Whereas Ordinance BL 2000-507 authorizes amendments to said grant to be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That Amendment No. 1 to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the purpose of collection and disposal of waste tires, which amendment increases the amount of said grant from $200,000 to $320,000, which amendment is attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
