RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-641

A resolution adopting new pay plans for employees of the Metropolitan Board of Health, pursuant to Sections 12.09 and 12.10 of the Metropolitan Charter, effective July 1, 2001, July 1, 2002, and July 1, 2003.

WHEREAS, the Board of Health, acting in its official capacity as a Civil Service Commission, has, pursuant to Sections 12.09 and 12.10 of the Metropolitan Charter, assigned each employment classification to a salary grade as of July 1, 2001, July 1, 2002, and July 1, 2003, with such assignments being equitably related to each other; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Health's Civil Service Commission has adopted the salary ranges for each grade for each of these years; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Personnel for the Board of Health has recommended, after the Commission's approval, desirable salary ranges for each grade for each of these years to the Director of Finance; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has approved the ranges for each grade for each of these years and forwarded the same with a statement of full budgetary implications to the Mayor for his approval; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor has approved the plan and recommends its adoption by the Metropolitan County Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: The pay plan for employees of the Metropolitan Board of Health, from and after July 1, 2001, shall be as provided in Exhibit A. Exhibit A is incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set out herein.

SECTION 2: The pay plan for employees of the Metropolitan Board of Health, from and after July 1, 2002, shall be provided in Exhibit B. Exhibit B is incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set out herein.

SECTION 3: The pay plan for employees of the Metropolitan Board of Health, from and after July 1, 2003, shall be as provided in Exhibit C. Exhibit C is incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set out herein.

SECTION 4: Metropolitan County Council Resolution No. 97-736, and any amendments thereto, upon the adoption of this Resolution, shall be of no effect, but employees shall be paid under Resolution No. 97-736, as it may have been amended, until the effective date of this Resolution.

SECTION 5: If any portion of this Resolution shall, for any reason, be held invalid or unconstitutional, such findings shall not render the remaining portions invalid or unconstitutional, it being the intent of the Metropolitan County Council that the remaining portions of this Resolution would have been adopted as if such invalid or unconstitutional portions had been omitted.

SECTION 6: This Resolution shall take effect on July 1, 2001, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
