Whereas, plaintiff Brandi Murphy, was born with spastic cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder at Nashville General Hospital on August 20, 1987; and
Whereas, Brandi Murphy's mother, Lori Murphy, incurred medical expenses as a result of said incident; and
Whereas, Brandi Murphy will have spastic cerebral palsy her entire life and will be confined to a wheel chair for her entire life; and
Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that a settlement of Seventy Thousand ($70,000.00) Dollars is a fair and reasonable amount and recommends that this claim be compromised and settled and that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the lawsuit of Lori Murphy as guardian and next of friend for Brandi Murphy against the Metropolitan Government for the amount of Seventy Thousand ($70,000.00) Dollars and that said amount should be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after this adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
