A resolution approving an amendment to a grant contract by and between State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan State Trial Courts, for the establishment of residential substance abuse treatment projects.

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2000-417 approved a grant award in an amount not to exceed one million four hundred twenty-thousand two hundred eighty-eight dollars ($1,420,288) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan State Trial Courts, for the establishment of residential substance abuse treatment projects; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said contract to decrease the total compensation to one million two hundred seventy thousand two hundred eighty eight dollars ($1,270,288) due to insufficient federal funds available to support the project; and,

Whereas, Ordinance No. BL2000-417 provided that the grant can be amended by resolution receiving twenty-one (21) affirmative votes; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan State Trial Courts, for the establishment of residential substance abuse treatment projects, which Amendment decreases the total compensation one million two hundred seventy thousand two hundred eighty eight dollars ($1,270,288) due to insufficient federal funds available to support the project, a copy attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said Amendment.

Section 2. That the sum of one hundred five thousand eight hundred fifty six dollars ($105,856) be provided each year for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government's matching share for the program.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
