RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-604
A resolution recognizing the first grade students at Harpeth Valley Elementary School.
WHEREAS, the teachers, staff, and parents of Harpeth Valley Elementary School endeavor to educate all students to achieve high levels of academic performance so that they may successfully contribute and participate in today's every changing society; and
WHEREAS, Harpeth Valley Elementary School provides education for a diverse group of students recognizing that each individual possesses different abilities; and
WHEREAS, the first-grade students of Harpeth Valley Elementary met the challenge in reading and math by achieving at or above the national average; and
WHEREAS, the first-grade teachers have instilled in their classrooms the joy of reading and the need for math in equipping their students with the skills they need to fulfill their potential; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the first-graders of Harpeth Valley Elementary for their outstanding achievement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the first grade students at Harpeth Valley Elementary School.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Principal Martha Battle Hayes, on behalf of the first grade teachers of Harpeth Valley Elementary School.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
