RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-601

A resolution recognizing Cynthia Catignani on winning the "Metropolitan Teacher of the Year" award in Metropolitan Davidson County.

WHEREAS, on Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Adelphia Coliseum, Cynthia Catignani, educator, at Chadwell Elementary School received the "Metropolitan Teacher of the Year" award; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Catignani, a 19-year teaching veteran, has provided outstanding leadership to other faculty members, brings enthusiasm and energy to her students, has an excellent repertoire of teaching strategies, creativity, innovation, and vision that have brought invaluable assets to Chadwell Elementary; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Catignani will represent the Metropolitan Davidson County School System later this fall competing for the statewide "Teacher of the Year" award; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Catignani spearheaded the implementation and took the lead in improving Chadwell's computer lab and developing the school's technology plan; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Cynthia Catignani on receiving the "Metropolitan Teacher of the Year" award.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Cynthia Catignani on winning the "Metropolitan Teacher of the Year" award in Metropolitan Davidson County.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Cynthia Catignani.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
