RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-589

A resolution approving a lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County on behalf of the Nashville Career Advancement Center and the Sharp Electronics Corporation for the lease of copiers.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee has entered into a lease agreement with Sharp Electronics Corporation for copiers for various state departments; and,

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws, §4.12.090(B) provides that the purchasing agent may make purchases using the provisions of contracts entered into by the State Department of General Services in compliance with Tennessee Code Annotated §12-3-1001(c); and

Whereas, the Nashville Career Advancement Center is in need of copiers; and

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws Section 5.04.020, which applies to all departments, boards, commissions and agencies, provides that all leases for equipment shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council if the annual expenditure for said lease exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and,

Whereas, the annual expenditure to lease said copiers exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and,

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said contract.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the lease of copiers by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County on behalf of the Nashville Career Advancement Center, using the contract between the State of Tennessee and Sharp Electronic Corporation, a copy which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, at the annual lease cost of not less than five thousand nine one dollars and twelve cents ($5,091.12) is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
