RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-563

A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Department of Codes Administration to maintain and make available detailed information on enforcement of the recently enacted structure safety codes.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has recently enacted legislation which revises and extends health and safety codes as related to structures in the area of the Metropolitan Government; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Department of Codes Administration identify such structures that may be in violation of these new codes; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that photographs be taken of such violations, that detailed information of the violations be maintained, that the location, including address of such facilities, and enforcement action taken.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Department of Codes Administration to maintain and make available detailed information on enforcement of the recently enacted structure safety codes, including but not limited to the information set forth in the recitals above.

SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the director of the Department of Codes Administration.

SECTION 3. That the Director of the Department of Codes Administration is further requested to inform The Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 thereof, not later than thirty (30) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
