RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-561
A Resolution requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to enact legislation that would require that all group homes be licensed by the State of Tennessee.
WHEREAS, there are a growing
number of group homes being opened in residential neighborhoods that are designed
to assistance person with various disabilities and dependency problems; and
WHEREAS, many of such homes are not required to be licensed by any agency to
assure that such home are providing appropriate services, and are not endangering
the health, safety and welfare of their communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to enact legislation that would require all group homes be licensed by the State of Tennessee.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
