RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-553

A resolution approving an amendment to the lease agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Education, and Norman Ginsberg for housing of equipment, furniture and surplus property.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Board of Education is in need of space in order to house equipment, furniture and surplus or reusable property; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Board of Education has negotiated a lease Agreement of warehouse space at 101 Spence Lane, Nashville, TN with Norman Ginsberg, and said lease was approved by the Metropolitan Council by Bill No. BL2000-295; and

Whereas, the parties by mutual agreement, wish to amend the lease by extending the term to December 31, 2001; and

Whereas, Bill No. BL2000-295 provided that amendments to this lease could be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty one affirmative votes; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said amendment.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the amendment to the lease agreement with The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Education and Norman Ginsberg for housing of equipment, furniture and surplus property, to extend the term date to December 31, 2001 a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved.

Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
