A resolution requesting the Mayor to periodically inform the Metropolitan Council of lobbying efforts and status of legislation pending in the Tennessee State Legislature that affects the Metropolitan Government.

WHEREAS, throughout each year the Metropolitan Council adopts several resolutions requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to introduce and enact legislation, or to support pending legislation, that affects the Metropolitan Government; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor historically submits a series of requested legislation to the Davidson County Delegation for the benefit of the Metropolitan Government; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Mayor inform the Council of the status of legislation pending before the State Legislature that affects the Metropolitan Government, including that legislation supported by the Mayor, that legislation requested by the Council, and all other significant legislation that may have an affect upon the Metropolitan Government.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Mayor to periodically inform the Council of lobbying efforts and status of legislation pending in the Tennessee State Legislature that affects the Metropolitan Government.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is further requested to inform The Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 thereof, not later than thirty (30) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 3. That the Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Mayor.

SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
