A resolution recognizing Carrol D. Kilgore on his 50 years of outstanding, loyal and dedicated years of legal experience.

WHEREAS, Carrol D. Kilgore, a highly respected attorney, began practicing law in 1950, after receiving his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School, and is indeed deserving of special recognition for his noteworthy career; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kilgore began his career in law after serving with the military for three-and-a-half years. After eleven years in private practice, he served as assistant U.S. Attorney until 1965, before joining the firm Branstetter, Kilgore, Stranch & Jennings; and

WHEREAS, drawing on his education and experience to benefit his fellow Tennesseans, Carrol D. Kilgore exemplifies the traits of integrity and commitment as a public servant in representing Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, Carrol D. Kilgore, in 1977 wrote and published Judicial Tyranny: An Ing. Into the Integrity of Federal Judiciary.

WHEREAS, noted for his wisdom, his expertise in the field of law, and his humility, Carrol D. Kilgore is an exemplary gentleman who has distinguished himself in his profession; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Carrol D. Kilgore for his contributions to the public image of the legal profession in Tennessee while earning the lasting respect and admiration of all who know him.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Carrol D. Kilgore on his 50 years of outstanding, loyal and dedicated years of legal experience.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Carrol D. Kilgore.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
