RESOLUTION NO. RS2001-527

A resolution recognizing Maclin P. Davis, Jr., on his 50 years of outstanding, loyal and dedicated years of legal experience.

WHEREAS, Maclin P. Davis, Jr., a highly respected attorney, began practicing law in 1950, after receiving his law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law, and is indeed deserving of special recognition for his noteworthy career; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Davis, served in the House of Representatives of the Tennessee General Assembly from 1954 to 1956, has twice served on the Nashville Bar Association and is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" in the fields of business litigation and family law; and

WHEREAS, drawing on his education and experience to benefit his fellow Tennesseans, Maclin P. Davis, Jr., exemplifies the traits of integrity and commitment as a public servant in representing Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, noted for his wisdom, his expertise in the field of law, and his humility, Maclin P. Davis, Jr., is an exemplary gentleman who has distinguished himself in his profession; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Maclin P. Davis, Jr., for his contributions to the public image of the legal profession in Tennessee while earning the lasting respect and admiration of all who know him.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Maclin P. Davis, Jr., on his 50 years of outstanding, loyal and dedicated years of legal experience.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Maclin P. Davis, Jr.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
