RESOLUTION NO. RS2001- 526

A resolution recognizing Asa Ambrister on his 50 years of outstanding, loyal and dedicated years of legal experience.


WHEREAS, Asa Ambrister, a highly respected attorney, began practicing law in 1950, after receiving his law degree from the University of Tennessee, and is indeed deserving of special recognition for his noteworthy career; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Ambrister began his career in law with the United States Department of Labor in Washington, D.C, practiced with the National Labor Relations Board until 1960, at which time he moved to Nashville and entered into private practice; and

WHEREAS, drawing on his education and experience to benefit his fellow Tennesseans, Asa Ambrister exemplifies the traits of integrity and commitment as a public servant in representing Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, noted for his wisdom, his expertise in the field of law, and his humility, Asa Ambrister is an exemplary gentleman who has distinguished himself in his profession; and

WHEREAS, a devoted family man, Mr. Ambrister and his beloved wife, Delores, are volunteer Bible study leaders for incarcerated young people at a local state juvenile facility; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Asa Ambrister for his contributions to the public image of the legal profession in Tennessee while earning the lasting respect and admiration of all who know him.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Asa Ambrister on his 50 years of outstanding, loyal and dedicated years of legal experience.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Asa Ambrister.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
